At Alilia, we are reaffirming our commitment to education for another year. That’s why we’re bringing back our most iconic and highly-rated programs: our intensive BEGINNER and ADVANCED courses.
The goal is for participants to set up their own project on a loom and weave a sampler to master various weave structures. The course explanations and materials are designed to give you the skills to work independently afterward, whether you have your own loom at home or in a studio. For advanced students, we will work on specific projects to refine technique and explore new avenues of artistic expression.
Description
You will discover the fascinating world of designing and weaving on a floor loom:
- Prepare your own floor loom and experiment with creating a textile
- Create your own sampler using different designs, colors, and fibers.
- Weave a practical final piece that you can actually use.
- Master the basic terminology that anyone needs to dive into the world of loom weaving.

This course is for creative individuals with a curiosity and passion for natural fibers who want to explore the exciting world of traditional loom weaving.

INTENSIVE BEGINNER / ADVANCED: WEEKDAYS
There is an option to complete these courses (12 hours) over several consecutive days within the same week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday) or on alternating days over two consecutive weeks.
Schedule: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
INTENSIVE BEGINNER / ADVANCED: WEEKENDS (12 hours)
Schedule: Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Note: This weekend option can also be scheduled as a Friday afternoon and a full Saturday.

We will confirm availability upon receipt of your request, after which a deposit is required. The studio reserves the right to cancel a session with a minimum of 4 days’ notice prior to the start date. In this event, a full refund of the deposit will be issued. Failure to attend without at least 5 days’ notice will result in the forfeiture of the deposit. In all courses, we use individual 4 or 8-shaft looms (both table looms and floor/treadle looms).
